Public Preview 0.2.6

Laishou 0.2.6 is a hotfix release. All features are still free to use during public preview.

This release fixes a crash that could happen while scanning applications on some Macs.

The crash was caused by Spotlight occasionally returning duplicate application records. Laishou now merges those records by app path before continuing the scan, so duplicate records no longer make the app quit. Cleanup accounting also continues to be tightened so the cleanable number is closer to what can actually be removed.

• App scan crash: Fixed a crash caused by duplicate application records returned by Spotlight.
• More stable scans: Application records are merged by standardized path while preserving richer usage metadata where possible.
• Cleanup accounting: Sandbox container roots and other non-deliverable items are kept out of the default cleanable total.
• Safety boundary: Added deliverability checks so items that clearly cannot be removed are no longer counted by default.

Public Preview 0.2.5

Laishou 0.2.5 is a small bugfix release. All features are still free to use during public preview.

This release continues tightening junk cleanup safety boundaries. Laishou is more careful about what can be cleaned and what should be left alone, especially inside app bundles.

Laishou no longer cleans app language bundles, avoiding possible app signature or integrity problems. Sandbox app caches are shown as more specific items instead of one broad container cache. Developer package-manager caches are also recognized, with a cautious review-first flow.

• No language-bundle cleanup: Removed app language-bundle cleanup to avoid breaking app signatures or app behavior.
• Finer container caches: Sandbox app caches are split into more specific candidates to reduce accidental cleanup risk.
• Developer caches: Added recognition for npm, yarn, pnpm, Cargo, Ivy, Bun, and related package-manager caches.
• Safer decisions: Large or truncated directories now better distinguish regenerable caches from real user data.

Public Preview 0.2.4

Laishou 0.2.4 is a small bugfix release. All features are still free to use during public preview.

This release fixes several cleanup diagnostics issues. Detailed reports now keep their results more reliably, survive app restarts better, and show the same "needs attention" counts as the report body.

Protected items are now shown as a neutral safety result instead of looking like cleanup failures. Laishou also excludes its own log folder from junk cleanup candidates so diagnostics and audit records are not swept into the same cleanup pass.

• Diagnostics reliability: Detailed cleanup reports now persist locally so recent results are less likely to disappear after quitting or crashing.
• Empty report fixes: Fixed cases where the diagnostics sheet could open with an empty or stale report after cleanup.
• Clearer counts: The "needs attention" number now matches the detailed report body more closely.
• Safety boundary: Laishou's own log folder is excluded from junk cleanup candidates to protect diagnostic records.

Public Preview 0.2.3

Laishou 0.2.3 is a small bugfix release. All features are still free to use during public preview.

This release continues improving cleanup diagnostics. When cleanup results are not what you expected, you can now preview a more complete report in the app before deciding whether to save it and send it to us.

The report is exported only when you ask for it, and you choose where to save it. It explains why each item was cleaned or skipped, clearly notes that it contains file paths from your Mac, and is never uploaded automatically. App scan debug dumps are also no longer written by default in preview builds.

• Detailed diagnostics: After cleanup, you can preview a fuller report that explains each item's result and reason.
• Review before sending: The report is shown in the app first, and is saved only after you confirm.
• Save location: Diagnostics that include paths are saved through the system save dialog you control.
• Privacy fix: Plain-path app scan debug dumps are no longer written to the cache folder by default.

Public Preview 0.2.2

Laishou 0.2.2 is a small bugfix release. All features are still free to use during public preview.

This release adds cleanup diagnostics export. When cleanup results are not what you expected, it is easier to understand what was handled, what was protected or skipped, and the broad reason.

The diagnostic report includes counts and reason categories only. It does not include file paths and is never uploaded automatically. You can export it from the feedback area in Settings, then decide whether to attach it to an email.

• Cleanup diagnostics: Added path-free diagnostics export to help explain why something was not removed.
• Result review: Diagnostics summarize cleanup outcomes and skip reasons for easier feedback.
• Privacy boundary: Reports do not include file paths and are not uploaded automatically.
• Feedback flow: Settings now has an export action that reveals the report in Finder.

Laishou 0.2.1 is a small bugfix release. All features are still free to use during public preview.

This release fixes the DMG install window so opening the download shows the drag-to-Applications layout again. It also includes recent stability improvements for scanning, uninstall, and maintenance work.

The install flow is the same: open the DMG, drag Laishou to Applications, then use the app as usual. Laishou still shows results first and waits for your confirmation before handling items.

• Installer: Fixed the DMG so opening it shows the intended drag-to-Applications window.
• Scanning and cleanup: Includes recent stability improvements for scanning, deletion, and simulator cleanup.

Laishou 0.2.0 is the second public preview release. All features are still free to use during preview.

This update mainly makes Laishou easier to install and easier to keep up to date, with small improvements across scanning and app management.

The basic flow has not changed: Laishou shows the scan results first, and you choose what to handle before anything is cleaned or uninstalled.

• Easier install: Opening the DMG now shows a simple drag-to-Applications install window.
• App updates: Preview users can check for Laishou updates from inside the app.
• Scanning: Junk cleanup, file organization, and related scans have been tuned for a steadier experience.

First preview release

This is the first preview release of Laishou. All features are currently free to use.

This first version opens the basic Laishou experience: clean junk files, find files that take up space, look through installed apps, and run simple maintenance checks.

It is an early preview, not a finished product. The goal is to make the core flow useful and understandable: scan first, review the results, then choose what to do.

• Junk cleanup: Scans common caches, logs, temporary files, and other items that are usually safe to review.
• File organization: Helps you find large files, duplicate files, and similar photos before deciding what to keep.
• App management: Shows installed apps and looks for related leftover files when you uninstall one.
• Basic maintenance: Checks a few startup and system items that may be worth reviewing.
